Gulbarga is a vibrant and bustling city, filled with attractive shops, markets, natural surroundings and heritage locations. I decided to visit it with my friends to enjoy the many attractions of the city and so booked tickets to the city on the Udyan Express using IRCTC.
We Travelled On the Majestic Udyan Express
Udayan Express is a daily train connecting between Bangalore and Gulbarga. It is a superfast train offering vital connectivity between the two important metropolitan cities. It also connects between various cities in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, en route thus enabling travelers to easily commute between such locations.
Amongst the many Bangalore to Gulbarga trains, this train is the best because it has the latest travel comforts and facilities, enabling travelers to enjoy a comfortable journey as and when required. Our journey on the train lasted and it was comfortable. At the station, we quickly picked a cab to reach the hotel accommodation.
Our Stay Was In a Cozy Two Star Hotel
Our place of stay was the Hotel City Park, situated in Timmapuri Circle, Station Road Near Bus Terminus, Gulbarga. This is a modern but small budget hotel. The rooms here are spacious, elegant in their interiors styling and fitted with modern utilities that satisfy the needs of today’s travelers.
I could enjoy lovely food in the hotel’s multi-cuisine restaurant. Though this is a budget hotel, yet it provides various types of services to its guests in the form of travel desk, conference room, wedding services lift etc, thus enabling guests to enjoy such benefits at a very low cost. Other key facilities are room service and laundry.
At The Lovely Gulbarga Fort
We took a cab to visit this main attraction in Gulbarga called Gulbarga Fort, which is located in Gulbarga City in the Gulbarga district of North Karnataka. It is said and believed that this Fort was significantly enlarged in 1347 by al-ud-din Hasan of the Bahmani Dynasty after parting off from Delhi governance. Basically it has Islamic architecture and mouments, such as mosques, tombs, Forts and other structures that have Arabic scriptures.
It also has a zoo nearby which houses a vast collection of wild animals from various parts of the country. The time spent here was really fantastic and we enjoyed a lovely time taking in the sights and sounds of this place.
We all had sumptuous meals in the theme park’s restaurant and after spending a whole day, energizing ourselves in the invigorating environment here, we came back to the hotel to pack for the return journey.
